Flying37Blog is all about aviation and other things of interest to Bob Carpenter. Based in Southern California, Bob flies out of El Monte Airport (KEMT) and averages about 100 hours of flying a year.
Some people say pilots are a bit full of themselves. This new T-Shirt from Flying37.com addresses that issue with "Enough about airplanes, let's talk about me".
There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of flying an airplane. Once you have done it, you will forever yearn to return to the clouds. I started flying on April 8, 2006 at El Monte Airport in SoCal. I received my instrument rating in September of 2010. I trained in a Piper Archer II and since then have been flying with a buddy named Ron. He owned a Piper Cherokee 140 that I was able to fly approximately 300 hours. He sold the 140 and purchased a Piper Comanche 250 and renovated it. We have put about 50 hours on the Comanche so far and are making plans for some really long cross country flights (like Lake Of The Ozarks).
